Kampala Circus

I am looking forward to the Premiere of my African Suite No. 23 KAMPALA CIRCUS by the fabulous Hanke Brothers tomorrow in Böblingen! The concert is sold out - if you already have a ticket, I am very much looking forward to meet you there! The instrumentation piano, tuba, viola and recorder is as unique as the four brothers and the whole family. This will be great fun!

Many Thanks to Katharine Rawdon (flute), Raj Bhimani (piano) und António Carrhilo (recorder) for the fantastic Premiere of my 22th African Suite INSIDE KAMPALA in the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Bombay on November 27! Now I am looking forward to the recording of my African Suite No. 24, MATHONGO AMNANDI (sweet dreams) on the 14th and 15th of December in Amsterdam by the fantastic quintet SELDOM SENE, who commissioned the piece!

Premiere in India!

My biggest thanks to the Bass Recorder Consort of Simon Borutzki who played the Premiere of my Ingxunguphalo in the Genezareth Church in Berlin today! Now I am looking forward to the next Premiere: My African Suite No, 22 INSIDE KAMPALA will have Premiere on November 27 in the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Bombay! Syrinx : XXII is the name of the fantastic ensemble formed by Katharine Rawdon (Flute) , Raj Bhimani (piano) und António Carrhilo (recorder). Next workshops

Dear friends, due to the current spread of the Corona virus all workshops till summer are canceled. We will try to delay the MOLLENHAUER workshop from May to October. I will keep you posted! Take care and stay healthy!

Alla turca and African Circus

Just published: On their first CD Alla turca the Berlin Recorder Orchestra, conducted by Simon Borutzki, plays works of Händel, Beethoven, Mozart, Tschaikowsky - and my first Arabic piece Jabal Ram. A terrific CD and a wonderful recording! And the next premiere will be on September 7: The amazing Hanke Brothers will play the Suite African Circus that I wrote for them, in an open air concert in Böblingen. I am very much looking forward to it!

Sören in Stockstadt

From May 11 till May 13 I will be the very first time at the Blockflötenfesttage in Stockstadt and present my scores, under them the brand new African Suite No. 19 UBUBELE. I hope to see you there!

A very special concert!

The next concert dedicated to my works will be at a very special place: At the beautiful Mendelssohn-Saal in the music university where I studied 1992 till 1996! I even wrote a novel about my time there, but it was never published... fortunately!
Friday, May 18, 7pm. I already say thank you to Rosa Lord, Anja Micheely, Mona Wölfel, Anne Wollherr, Barbara Niestroy, Corinna Fröhlich, Ebba-Maria Künning-Zeijl und Anette Bahe who will be participating. I will play the Contrabass Recorder in Consolation and Ajo Oloyin and the piano in the first two movements of Imibala yenjabulo. Hope to see you there!

Premiere in Porto

My biggest thanks to Katharine Rawdon, the Southern California Flute Virtuoso in Lisbon, for the fantastic Premiere of my very first Suite for Flute Solo SO LONG at the Porto Flute Festival! She played the three movements SO KIND, SO SAD and SO HAPPY with wonderful expression and brillant technique, and her idea to imitate a smooth jazz drums with her concert shoes will be adapted in the score! Now I am looking forward to the Premiere of my 22nd African Suite INSIDE KAMPALA by her trio Syrinxello in Lisbon.

Premiere in Oldenburg

My biggest thanks to Christiane Abt, Gabriele Hoeltzenbein, Ruth Ense and Ronald Poelman for the fantastic Premiere of SIKU SIYO MBALI (The day is not far) on January 14 in Oldenburg! Eight hands at one piano - only possible with a lot of practicing and four great (and slim) pianists like you! Congratulations also for the great percussion part in the beginning :-) Looking forward to hear it again! The next Premiere will be in Porto during the Porto Flute Festival on February 13 - my first Suite for Flute solo, played by the fabulous Katharine Rawdon!
